Global Mawlid Livestream 2025: 7 Inspiring Reflections

Global Online Mawlid 2025 Livestream celebration

The Global Mawlid Livestream 2025 brought together Muslims from across the world on Saturday, 20th September 2025. Alḥamdulillāh, it was hosted under the banner of the Islamic Commission of Sufi Orders (Australia) and chaired by the Executive Chairman, Shaykh Ramy Najmeddine al-Qadiri (Australia).

This historic gathering united mashāyikh, nasheed performers, and thousands of viewers to celebrate the blessed birth of the Beloved Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Below are seven reflections that capture the beauty, unity, and barakah of the night.

The Qur’an Set the Tone of Tranquillity

The livestream opened with a moving recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Shaykh Abdul Rahman Malas (Australia). His recitation filled hearts with sakīnah (serenity) and prepared the gathering for a night of remembrance and love. It was a reminder that every blessed gathering should begin with the words of Allah ﷻ, setting the spiritual atmosphere for what was to come.

Wisdom from Respected Mashāyikh

One of the greatest blessings of the night was the presence of esteemed scholars from across the globe. Among them were Shaykh Hisham bin Ubaidullah al-Qadiri, Shaykh Mukhlif al-‘Ali al-Qadiri, Shaykh Muhammad Ayatollah al-Qadiri, Shaykh Mubeen Raza, Shaykh Mohamed El-Sharkawy, Shaykh Isa Husayn Johansson al-Qadiri, Shaykh Ahmad Kamel, and others.

Their heartfelt reminders focused on the Prophet’s ﷺ mercy, the importance of unity in turbulent times, and the necessity of holding firm to traditional Sunni Islam. Their words echoed the timeless truth that love for the Messenger ﷺ is what unites the Ummah beyond all divisions.

Surprise Greetings That Brought Joy

The gathering was further blessed by special surprise video greetings from highly respected scholars: Shaykh Awn Mu’een al-Qadoumi (Jordan), Shaykh Hamdi Kanjo al-Makhzumi (Syria), and Shaykh Abdul Hadi Kharsa (Syria).

These messages carried wisdom, love, and encouragement, reminding us that the scholars of Islam continue to stand as guardians of tradition, offering guidance and support to gatherings of remembrance. Their presence, even virtually, was felt as a great honour and a sign of unity across borders.

Nasheed Performances That Uplifted Hearts

The night was illuminated with performances of praise for the Beloved ﷺ. Voices rose from every corner of the globe:

  • Firqah al-Zahra (Singapore) – whose children’s voices touched hearts with innocence and joy.

  • Muhammad Amin Afrin (Germany) – delivering soulful traditional nasheed that carried both depth and longing.

  • Shaykh Mostafa Azzam (Madinah) – who performed the timeless Burda in Arabic and English, linking past and present through sacred poetry.

  • Shaykh Abdullah al-Asmar (Canada) – who uplifted spirits with classic qasā’id.

These performances reminded us that art and devotion to the Prophet ﷺ are not bound by geography. Poetry and song have always been a means of expressing love for him, connecting believers across cultures and generations.

Unity Across Continents

One of the most striking aspects of the livestream was the sense of unity it created. From Australia to Europe, from the Middle East to Asia, Muslims were able to gather simultaneously in one virtual space.

Though separated by geography, the Ummah came together in love for the Messenger ﷺ. This demonstrated that technology, often seen as a distraction, can also be harnessed as a powerful tool for good — bridging distances and reminding us that the Prophet ﷺ is the axis around which the hearts of believers turn.

Why the Mawlid Matters Today

The Global Mawlid Livestream was not just a commemoration of the Prophet’s ﷺ birth — it was a renewal of faith. In today’s world, where many Muslims feel isolated or distracted by the noise of modern life, such gatherings revive the heart.

Celebrating the Mawlid is not only about remembering the past, but about renewing our gratitude, love, and connection to the Prophet ﷺ today. It is a living tradition that continues to inspire the Ummah and strengthen bonds of unity.

Carrying the Barakah Forward

Viewers reflected that the livestream brought tranquillity into their homes, increased their yearning for the Prophet ﷺ, and deepened their bonds with fellow believers. The event testified that Tasawwuf and traditional knowledge remain alive, continuing to unite the hearts of Muslims across the globe.

The blessings of the Mawlid are not limited to one night. Rather, they should inspire us to carry its light into our daily lives, seeking closeness to Allah ﷻ and love for His Messenger ﷺ in every moment.
